Up one level
You will find below all the elements relating to the Europass-CV plugins for blogs developed under the KITE project. These elements are the technical specifications of the plugin, the interoperability scenario and the Europass-CV profile application as well as the plugin source code, released under a GPL licence. The plugin is IE7 and firefox 2 compliant.
All these elements have been developed by the MENON Network and Les Développements Durables with the cooperation of the European Union, DG EAC and the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP). Les Developements Durables, a French entreprise working in the field of open source application and member of the Network: Réseau Libre Entreprise have been responsible for the technological development of the Europass-CV plugin.
The Europass-CV profile application was developped fom the initial matching we have elaborated between HR-XML SEP specifications and Europass-CV fields, in cooperation with Marc Van Coillie from the European Institute for eLearning.

Plugin limitation
The kiteCV plug-in that has been developed in the field of the KITE project corresponds to the aims of the project, but it has still some limitations. The plugin is under a free software GPL licence so it can be completed by everyone. The 2 main limitations are that there is no Europass XML import functionality and that the integration in ELGG is not finalised.
No Europass XML import
The plugin imports XML, but not all XML formats. The choice has been made to make it interoperable with the most promising standard in the HR community, which is the HR-XML standard. The XSLT transformation sheet already exists, but it needs to be integrated into the source code, and the user interface needs to be modified to integrate that new functionality.
Unfinalised integration in ELGG
While we where developing the plugin, ELGG was under important transformation. The code was not stable and the available documentation was not corresponding to the latest version. Since the main development team was under a lot of work they could not easily interact with us to overcome that instability.
Anyhow, the plugin has been developed to be independent from any blog, it could be used also in ELGG, even if not fully integrated as in the 2 other blog platforms.
